Now that's handy…

WordPress was kind enough to send out a bulletin regarding a nifty little firefox plugin called Zemanta. What this basically does is while you are writing a blog post, it will periodically scan the text and poll some basic news and info sites for suggestions of other pages out there to link to.

It also streamlines the process of embedding technorati tags into your post, and converting known terms into hyperlinks.

While it’s still technically in Alpha, it works like a charm. Since it is a browser plugin, it will work on a couple of different blogging platforms (WordPress, Blogger and Typepad). It does have a nasty habit of splashing its name in odd places, but that those can be deleted before posting your blog entry.

Give it a look…

  1. Hy!

    Thanks for review from Zemanta!

We’d very much like to hear about ideas you have regarding which direction we should work in the future. Please share them with us at getsatisfaction.com/zemanta or via email!

BTW: What bulletin? Is there something we don’t know about? :)

  2. Hi,

I wrote a FireFox extension to help bloggers easily add links to their posts. It uses Google search for link suggestions (not only Wikipedia) and OpenCalais for the semantic analysis.
It’s still alpha code, but I think it’s already useful and fun to use.
    Check it out in kaalga.com
Would love to hear your comments

    Thanks, Amit.
